Small Details That Make Azerbaijan Interesting

Azerbaijan is easy to remember for its big sights, especially like the Flame Towers in Baku. But some of the more interesting parts of a trip are because of the difference between places.

Baku has a modern city, a Caspian Sea waterfront and the historic streets of Icherisheher. The Old City is one of the best places to see the country’s history. 

Outside Baku, the scenery changes. Sheki has historic buildings and is surrounded by mountains, Gabala is surrounded by forests and mountains. Gobustan is full of the rocky landscapes and ancient rock carvings.

It does not mean that a trip has to be only around famous places in your entire trip. A few different types of places can give a better picture and a better satisfaction of the country.

Visa preparation is another small but important part of planning. Azerbaijan's official e-visa system currently lists eligible nationalities, and the list includes France, India, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The current official rules say that a standard e-visa should be requested at least three working days before arrival. The e-visa is valid for 90 days and permits up to 30 days in Azerbaijan, with single entry.

Azerbaijan becomes more interesting when the trip is not limited to one city. Baku gives the modern side, while places such as Sheki, Gabala and Gobustan show different parts of the country's history and landscape.
